Cruise from Los Angeles
, CA. USA
Los Angeles
: Los Angeles was founded in 1781 by Spanish governor Felipe
de Neve as El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora la Reina de los Ángeles
de Porciúncula (The Village of Our Lady, the Queen of the Angels
of Porciúncula). It became a part of Mexico in 1821 following
independence from Spain and then a part of the United States in
1848 at the conclusion of the Mexican-American War. It was
incorporated as a municipality on April 4, 1850—five months
before California achieved statehood.
Los Angeles is one of the world's most prominent centers of
culture, technology, and international trade, and is home to
world-renowned institutions covering a broad range of
professional and cultural fields. The city and its immediate
vicinity lead the world in producing popular entertainment—such
as motion picture, television, and recorded music—which forms
the base of Los Angeles' international fame and global status.

The Port
of LA
: Los Angeles Harbor Cruises
The Port of Los Angeles features broad
diversification in its seaport operation. Port
visitors can watch longshore workers operating
container cranes towering more than 200 feet high,
Los Angeles City fireboats providing a dazzling
waterspray escort for arriving vessels, seals
basking and playing in the clean harbor waters, and
much more. More than a dozen cruise lines call at
the Port of Los Angeles throughout the year, but
three cruise lines have homeport agreements to
operate ships during the Fall 2006/Spring 2010
cruise seasons. Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines'
Monarch of the Seas offers year-round, three- and
four- day cruises to Mexico, and the Vision of the
Seas offers seven-day cruises to Mexico. Princess
Cruise Lines' Diamond Princess offers seven-day
cruises to Mexico, and the Island Princess and Regal
Princess offer 15-day cruises to Hawaii. Norwegian
